I was surprised to see both a red Maserati Gran Tursimo and a white Tesla Model S. Given the fact it's approaching -10°F in Chicago, they're both welcome breaks from the usual stuff seen on my commute!

Definitely past -10 in Libertyville/Vernon Hills, was -12 on my drive to work this morning. I miss seeing all the sports cars/exotics on my drive to work back in Scottsdale. lol

I definitely look forward to warmer days when we start seeing them all over the place.
Do you usually attend the Supercar Saturday events up in Bannockburn?

Nope. Didn't know they existed. I just moved here from Arizona 4 weeks ago haha

It's the closest thing we have to Cars & Coffee in the Chicagoland area. It's a once a month thing that alternates between Bannockburn (just north of Deerfield) and Bolingbrook (3-5mi south of I-355 and I-88). The 2014 dates haven't been announced, but you can take a look at supercarsaturdays.com for previous galleries.

I cringe at seeing a Tesla with these temperatures...
Dude probably gets like 30 miles on a charge o_O

Most people I've seen with Teslas/Fisker Karmas/Chevy Volts basically commute to work, pop it on the charger again, take it off when they get home, run errands, and then plug it back in when they get home. I think he'll survive on days like today.

Nice! I will definitely have to check it out, and just hide my '98 Rav4 somewhere out of sight lol

They're in shopping centers, so you can find plenty of places to park out of sight.

As long as they don't forget to charge it, you are right.
It's just weird to me because having a car, I'm not expecting to refuel it every day.

And this is why electric cars won't be accepted by the masses anytime soon.
